You can always count on a Switzerland wedding to bring forth impeccable service and outstanding sophistication. Les Suisses are tycoon magnets and for a good reason:  capturing the zeitgeist up and down the country with A-list venues, cultural events, attention-grabbing architecture, and avant-garde aesthetics is the rule of thumb.

Elisa & Tyler envisioned a total fairytale of a big day, and their sophisticated black-tie wedding in Lake Lugano was our definition of making things happen for these beautiful two and their dearest people.

Elisa and her family are no strangers to Lago di Lugano. Often arriving in Lugano for their summer-holidays during Elisa’s childhood, the Lake carries some of the family’s fondest memories. When Tyler and Elisa began to date they’d often spend time on the shores romantically strolling, riding boats and getting the best out of what this A-list destination has to offer. It was only a matter of time before they decided this should be the place for their perfect “I do”s.

As they both love everything fresh (Elisa loves the hue of fresh peaches) but had also had their hearts set on a black-tie wedding with a contemporary and yet romantic twist we wanted for them to encounter no obstacle on their special day. Their venue of choice was Hotel Royale Splendide. We teamed up with Tabea Maria Lisa and our first challenge was to re-create a chic botanical garden style within the premises of the hotel. Needless to say, this did not remain a challenge for long, as our fresh-faced design began to evolve. A long top table with an incredible ceiling decor, a sea of English roses in all shades of Pamplemousse and peach, and even freshly cut ones to serve as place-card holders, stately, ornate plates in stuccoed dove grey, peach, and cream scented candles that made the entire reception smell divine, created an ambiance as personalized as elegant.

Speaking of personalization, Tyler had made his groomsmen’s slippers to measure at the bespoke Stubbs & Wooton, Palm Springs, featuring an embroidered crest of the famous gate of Lugano, while Elisa gifted her bridesmaids the most elegant porcelain jewelry trays, featuring their monogram. The rest of the reception tablescape was accented with ghost seating and punched gold votive candles.

The ceremony took place at the Sacred Mount Madonna del Sasso in Morcote, one of the most important religious and historical sites in the canton of Ticino. During the ceremony, a tenor quartet sang to the couple, while the deep valley and the wild could be seen from the church’s yard. Next to the church, a porch allowed the couple’s guests to enjoy a fantastic view over Morcote, the lake and the surrounding mountain. Right after the ceremony, Elisa & Tyler’s loved ones enjoyed a cruise in a big boat around the lake while the newlyweds had their own alone together moments in a wooden yacht.

As a wedding planner in Ticino, I have to admit that this Lugano wedding is something to dream about, don’t you agree?
