We are pretty convinced that Lake Como was made for lovers. Out of this world beauty, elite experiences, and an entire destination wedding weekend planned to the finest seams in one of the most sought after villas on the Lake? We vow this garden oasis Villa Cipressi wedding in Lake Como will steal your hearts!

Alison & James’ lakeside nuptials were all about vowing their forever love in the presence of their dearest ones, that is, their dearest 100, who jetted-off from San Fransisco, California, Chicago, New York, Taiwan, Singapore, and beyond to Como to enjoy the finest Villa Cipressi has to offer. The couple wished all of their favorite people to be under one roof. We wanted a wedding that will feel warm, intimate and fun like a giant slumber party were our bride’s words,  so we made sure to book the entire villa for the couple’s 3-day wedding celebrations.

The two lovebirds, who, after two years of dating, dropped everything and moved across the world from New York to Shanghai to be together, are avid globetrotters. As sharing the goodness with their hearted ones was of major importance, they planned a welcome party on a private cruise around the lake for day one, a wedding day where the scenic ceremony would merge with refined details, a spectacular cocktail hour packed with live jazz music and alfresco dinner, and a brunch and a beach day in Bellagio, all to create an exclusive Lake Como experience.

We drew inspiration from Villa Cipressi with its gravel path gardens, statues, and lush flora to work on a garden-style ceremony, using muted reds, apricot pinks and soft cremes that blended to perfection with loose garden flowers to create statement-making arrangements. Chiara Sperti created a blooming open-crown arbor with according arrangements on each side. We did not wish to hinder the immaculate views of Como from sight hence we opted to employ ghost chairs. We chose secret readings for each other to be revealed at the ceremony. It turns out both were themed around dogs and love, as we are obsessed with our husky dog Jax. Our officiant was my cousin, who included references to my favorite movie The Little Mermaid in her speech.

For the reception we had made-to-order tablecloths especially for our couple, giving their oasis garden style wedding an even more refined touch, matched with wrought iron chairs, opulent blooms, and glass-tubed antique gold candleholders. The seating chart featured a blossoming wrought iron spanning floral installation where magnets hand-made by a friend of the couple were delicately hung. Alison also asked us to prepare an extra treat in order to surprise James, so a vintage ice cream cart was placed for everyone to enjoy their gelato in the garden. I surprised James with a gelato cart for dessert – he and our guests loved it! For late-night snacks, we had pizza and ramen. What better way to end a night of dancing under the stars than with all our favorite carbs? Could it get any dreamier than this? Katie Grand perfectly captured everything this gorgeous affair had to offer, so if you’re dreaming of tying the knot in Villa Cipressi you’re exactly where you should be.
